Steve Pfund
Hall of Fame Manager/Coach Class of 2020
A highly respected high school baseball coach, particularly known for his successful tenure at Lutheran South High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He is an alumnus of Lutheran South, graduating in 1978, and continued a family legacy in coaching as his father, Roy Pfund, also served as a long-time head coach at the school.
Steve Pfund led the Lutheran South baseball program for eleven years, building a dominant team that won the district championship in four consecutive years, and eight out of the last eleven district titles during his leadership. His teams also achieved impressive state-level success, finishing second in state in both 2012 and 2017. Under his guidance, Lutheran South's baseball team won over 70% of its games.
In recognition of his significant contributions to high school baseball, Pfund was inducted into the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2016. He stepped down from his coaching role in 2019 to spend more time with his family, particularly with the arrival of his first grandchild, but continues to teach at Lutheran South.
