Stanley C. Mann

Stanley C. Mann
Hall of Fame Player Class of 1984

Unlike Musial who was given the name Stan “The Man” by Brooklyn Dodger baseball fans, he has always been Stan Mann, a fine baseball player. Active in amateur baseball as a star defensive center fielder for the Kelly Shamrocks, St. Louis Union Printers and Kutis, for 18 years, Stan hit over .400 for eight consecutive seasons with a high of .440 in 1956. An excellent right-handed hitting outfielder who consistently made good contact, Mann also tried his hand at pitching late in his career and posted a 5-0 record. Title-winning teams included the Kelly Shamrocks and Union Printers. Mann went on to manage the Southwest Kiwanis teams in the Khoury League for 10 years and served on the Executive Committee of the St. Louis Union Printers Baseball Club.
