Bob Loddeke is regarded as one of the all-time great pitchers for the St. Louis Union Printers in their 75-year history. Prior to his 15 years as the Typos’ ace, this star right-hander pitched professionally for Independence, Greenville, Miami, Ashville and Lancaster. In 1957 he pitched the St. Louis Printers to the championship of the Union Printers International Baseball League, their first since 1915. In 1961, his earned run average (ERA) was 0.56 and his lifetime ERA spanning more than 20 years was 2.38. He has been a coach, manager and a member of the Typo Athletic Association’s Executive Board. Loddeke also umpired high school and college ball for five years.
