Righthander's steppingstone career included three years at McKinley, leading Public High League in strikeouts, and with Anheuser-Busch American Legion team. Signed with Yankees out of high school and roomed with Mickey Mantle in lower minors. Finished pro career in 1952, returning to help Jokers A.C. win Khoury Senior title in 1955 and then began a long association with the Red Villas.
