Rufkahr was one of the premier pitchers in each of the leagues in which he pitched: East Missouri. St. Louis County, and U. City. His career spanned 18 years with St. Peters, O'Fallon, and the St. Charles Browns. He was chosen to his league’s All-Star team 10 times and his best record years were in 1939 when he was 12-0, and in 1949 when he was 15-1. He was right-handed and unusually modest – but most deserving of the Hall of Fame.
