Marty Stein
Hall of Fame Contributor Class of 2023

Stein is president of the St. Louis Metro Collegiate Baseball League, a job he has held since 1995. During his 28 years as president, he has revitalized the Metro League which is now the premier destination in St. Louis for college baseball players during the summer. He helped hundreds of young men advance to the professional ranks. Many Metro League alumni have played in the Major Leagues, including David Freese, Robert Person, Brian Boehringer, Joe Boever, Mark Buehrle, T. J. Mathews, Bill Mueller, Al Nipper, Cliff Politte, and Kerry Robinson.

The Metro League has won three National Amateur Baseball Federation championships in 2003, 2013, and 2015.

Stein coached amateur baseball teams in the St. Louis area for many years. He coached youth teams for the Manchester Athletic Association, winning a Missouri State Championship.
He was the Baseball Commissioner and Tournament Director for the Manchester Athletic Association.

He was an assistant American Legion baseball coach for many years.

Stein grew up in St. Louis and attended Ladue Horton Watkins High School, graduating in 1969. He also
attended Meramec Community College in 1989.
