Joe H. Meyer
Hall of Fame Player Class of 1984

A right-hand pitcher for Ritenour High School and Bridgeton prior to World War 2. Meyer served in the military from 1943 through 1945 and lost a 1-0 game to Dave Koslo, Giants southpaw, in a European division play-off game.

He became a star performer for the famed St. Charles Browns and later played for Simpkins Ford in the Mid-City League. Meyer was also a capable batsman, helping his own cause on many occasions. Championship teams he played for included Bridgeton Flyers (1941), St. Charles Browns (1947) and Simpkins Ford (1948). Joe also coached CYC baseball for St. Dismas for five years and also served in their athletic association.
