Hall of Fame Manager/Coach Class of 2024

He was the head baseball coach at Fox High School for 27 years from 1971 to 1998. He guided his Warriors team to the Missouri State Championship in 1973 and 1975. The Warriors finished second in 1974 and 1978. They were third in 1977. The Warriors advanced to the Missouri State Tournament every year during that time. Wright was named Coach of the Year twice.

He was a very successful baseball coach who enjoyed teaching the fundamentals of the game. He conducted numerous baseball clinics in the St. Louis area. He was one of three high school coaches who assisted former Cardinal pitcher Sonny Siebert at the Siebert Baseball Camp in Affton.

Wright played baseball for Central High School in Cape Girardeau, and also for Southeast Missouri State University. He played three seasons for the strong Cape Girardeau Capahas Baseball Club. The Capahas are a widely respected baseball team with an impressive history.
