A good-hitting infielder and pitcher, Frank was approached at age 15 with a pro contract by the Brooklyn Dodgers in World War II. Dinyer pitched Cleveland High School to a Public High League championship in 1945.

He spent three seasons in the New York Giants’ farm system. He was drafted for Korean War military duty. Frank played on 30 teams from 1938 through 1950, including three city championship teams. Dinyer coached and managed in the Heine Meine League from 1963 to 1969.
