Ernest (Skip) Turner
Hall of Fame Player Class of 2014

A strong right-handed pitcher, Turner played in the St. Louis County League at the age of 16, making him the youngest player in the history of that league. In 1958, he pitched for Glencoe; in 1961, for Ballwin until 1963. In 1964, Skip played military service ball at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, where he was an undefeated pitcher. His team won the 5th Army championship.

After serving overseas, Turner played for local teams, and in 1972, was with the St. Charles Caps in the Eastern Missouri Baseball Association. Skip has coached and managed his sons’ little league teams.
