Al Green was an excellent outfielder with a good arm and average speed. He also was an outstanding right-handed hitter. Green consistently hit above .325, with a high of .382 in 1923.
He played professionally with Little Rock, Joplin, Orlando, Barthsville, Fort Smith, Waco and Ashville. Locally, Green toiled for such strong amateur teams as Frank Adams. Suburban Express, Ellerman Furniture, Chevrolet, and Hellrung Lamp.
Green also played military service ball in World War I. He hit in 42 straight games at Barthsville, Oklahoma in the Western Association.
