This first baseman and pitcher was left-handed all the way. An excellent hitter who frequently batted around the .400 mark, Dave pitched and batted teams like The Mural Room, Joe Garavelli’s, Shearer Chevrolet, J.B. Smith Undertakers, Feld Chevrolet and Barford Chevrolet to Championship seasons, winning a City title in ’47. He was signed to a professional contract as a first baseman and went to Lima in the Ohio State League. His career was Interrupted by military service, where Lowman played for the Naval Air Station. Upon returning home, he resumed play in the Muny’s strong University City League.
