Christopher (Kit) Crooks
Hall of Fame Player Class of 2019
An outstanding righthanded pitcher, Crooks is the youngest inductee in the history of the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. In 2019, he was still an active player in the Men’s Senior Baseball League. Crooks has pitched for the Bud Light team since 2006. In 2013 his team won the MSBL World Series in Arizona.
Crooks has been a pitcher with the St. Louis Spikes since 2002. In 2012, he threw a no-hitter against the Waterloo Buds in a Mon-Clair League semifinal playoff game. He is the all-time leader for the Spikes in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched. He ranks second in earned run average. Twice he was named MVP on the Spikes team. He has won six Mon-Clair League Cy Young Awards. He was selected to six Mon-Clair League all-star teams and was a Mon-Clair League playoff MVP.
From 1993-98, Crooks pitched for the Meramec Valley Cardinals. He was with the CYC Cardinals from 2004-07. He was also an All-Star pitcher for the St. Louis Rockies in the Eastern Missouri Baseball Association in 2001-02 and helped lead his team to the EMBA Little World Series, finishing second in 2001.
He was a standout pitcher at Lafayette High School between 1993 and 1996. In 2001, he was sophomore baseball coach at the Wildwood, MO-based school.
Crooks played on numerous championship teams in the Mon-Clair League, MSBL, EMBA, GABL and CYC Leagues. He as conducted youth baseball clinics for many years.
