A fan favorite, Hrabosky pitched for the Cardinals from 1970 to 1977. He led the National League in saves in 1975 with 22 on his way to winning The Sporting News National League Fireman of the Year Award. That year, he had a career high in wins, posting a 13-3 record with an ERA of 1.67.
Hrabosky pitched for the Kansas City Royals in 1978 and 1979, and the Atlanta Braves from 1980 to 1982.
He played both baseball and football at Savanna High School in Anaheim, California. He was originally drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 1967 but did not sign with the club. Two years later, the Cardinals made him their first round draft choice.
Hrabosky has provided color commentary for Cardinal games since 1985, and has been with Bally Sports Midwest since 1997. He also hosted his own radio show on KFNS 590AM in St. Louis. He is also a broadcaster on the Cardinals Radio Network.
